Neon Fish - Neon Tetra

Neon Tetra aka Neon fish is one of the lovely looking freshwater fish it is also one of the good and preferred discus fish tank partner.Neon Tetra is one of the characin family and is found in the wild in southeastern Colombia, eastern Peru, and western Brazil. Neon Tetra lives in temperature between  20 and 26 degree Cecilius (68 - 79 F).

Neon tetra has white abdomen with a blue back over it.It also has an iridescent red stripe that begins at the middle of the body and go to the base of the caudal fin.

Neon tetras are easy to keep in tanks with medium size at least 60 cm it prefer PH level of 6.0 to 7.8 Neon tetras are very sensitive to water conditions changes they also need to be kept with calm fish as they are not aggressive and their size is small. Neon's love to live in schools of 6 to 10 fish  

Neon tetras accept all type of flake foods but should also be feed with different foods such as brine shrimp, blood worms , tubifex to show off their colors and maintain a good fish health.
