Staring long time ago when i decided to come back to the aquarium hobby , i decided first to go with angel fish as they are my lovely favorite fish. and after a time with raising and breeding angels i decided to break my fears against discus and go through their magnificent world.

Started by reading a lot and buying some juveniles that all died at first due to lake of experience with those lovely fishes. and after a lot of trials and with the help of the great book Discus secrets, am having now 4 breeding pairs that not only bring small lovey fishes but also a lot of fun.

Discus The Lovely Cichlid

Breeding Angel Fish

Beginning

If you wish to try hatching the eggs artificially, you'll need some large jars and/or a hatching tank. Use clean, dechlorinated tap water, and uphold the temperature at around 80 F (27C). In colder climates, the temperature can be maintained by keeping the jars inside the hatching/grow out tank. If your Angels have chosen a plant leaf or piece of slate on that to spawn, you will be able to transfer the eggs quickly and easily to the jar. Don't assist them to be exposed to the air for a larger number of as opposed to a few seconds. Angel eggs are light sensitive, so it is better to stay them in the dark for a greater feat rate. By this time, properties should look like real, miniature Angelfish, and it may be a good idea to separate them according to size so that the smaller sites don't find it so difficult to compete for food. It should be noted that a few colour forms of Angel are more delicate than others. These strains include Blushers, German Reds, Double Blacks and Albinos, and the mortality market prices will be higher among these kinds of spawns. Silver, Gold and heterozygous Marbles are the hardiest and quickest growing of the colour forms.

I fall in love with this buetifull fish along time ago sceince i was so young,at this time i used to have a pair or two in my tanks beside the main other varaites that i used to breed like ( blue gouramy,dwarf gouramy, Siamese fighter,...etc)
And from 2 years ago finally i achived my dream and dedicate all my tanks to my lover The Angel Fish.

The scientific name for the freshwater angelfish is Pterophyllum scalare.
this name is drived from the greek word winged leaf and scalare means like a flight of stairs.
This fish origonaly come from Amazon river in south america.they like soft water,but its known that angelfish now breed in most water types.
They can grow up to 6 inch in lenght, but at that size in need larger tanks to have room to swim.
